“Was danach kommt…” – ein Kunstspaziergang im Leipziger Osten

Die Corona-Pandemie hat das Leben aller maßgeblich verändert. Auch das künstlerische Arbeiten sowie die Kunstbetrachtung waren und sind im Zuge des Lockdowns und Physical Distancings häufig nur eingeschränkt möglich. Situationsbedingt wurden zahlreiche neue Formen der Produktion, Präsentation und Rezeption erprobt. Gleichzeitig bringt der Einschnitt des Lockdowns auch Zeit und Raum, aktuelle Herausforderungen, Verhältnisse und Lebensformen zu reflektieren. Denn spätestens mit der zuvor undenkbaren zeitweisen Lahmlegung ganzer Industrien ist deutlich geworden: es geht auch anders!
Im Rahmen eines Open Calls wurden Künstler*innen mit Schwerpunkt in der Fotografie eingeladen, ihre persönlichen Perspektiven zum Thema „Was danach kommt… / What comes after…“ einzureichen. Eine Auswahl der erhaltenen Arbeiten ist in der gleichnamigen Ausstellung in Schaufenstern entlang einer Route im Leipziger Osten zu sehen.
Mit dem Format des Kunstspaziergangs werden unter Beachtung der Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der Pandemie an insgesamt zehn Stationen anhand vielfältiger künstlerischer Positionen Einblicke in diverse Aspekte von Transformationsprozessen gegeben und zur Auseinandersetzung mit verschiedenen Zukunftsszenarien und Utopien angeregt.

“What comes after…” – an art walk in the east of Leipzig

The corona pandemic has changed everyone’s life considerably. Due to the lockdown and physical distancing, artistic work as well as art appreciation were and are often only possible to a limited extent. Situation-related, several new forms of production, presentation and reception of art have been tested. At the same time, this lockdown also brings time and space to reflect on current challenges, circumstances and ways of life. And as the temporary paralysis of entire industries, previously unthinkable, has made clear: there is another way!
Within the framework of an open call, artists with a focus on photography were invited to submit their personal perspectives on the topic “Was danach kommt… / What comes after…”. A selection of the received works can be seen in the exhibition of the same name in shop windows along a route in the east of Leipzig.
With the format of an art walk that is taking account of the containment measures of the pandemic, a total of ten stops along the exhibition route show a variety of artistic positions. The photographic works offer insights into various aspects of transformation processes and encourage the discussion of different future scenarios and utopias.
